Kelli Samuelson started LA Sweat in 2014. At that time, the criterium-focused female race team stormed onto the USA racing scene as true underdogs. In 2017 the team cemented their place in the US women's peloton when they won the best rider, lap leader, and the team overall for USA Crits. LA Sweat is a team designed to prove you can be feminine and strong as hell. 6 years later that motto hasn't changed, as Kelli continues to focus on giving fast women the opportunity to race across the globe.

“Our number 1 rule on the team is ‘be nice.’ We all truly believe it only takes a few positive women to influence a peloton and help grow this sport. I never imagined when I started this team that it would be where it is today, but I wouldn't change a thing.” - Kelli

LA Sweat will be welcoming back the majority of its riders from 2019 and adding just a few new faces. Returning for the 2020 season are Emily Flynn (CAN), Dani Morshead (2019 USA Team Pursuit National Champion), Ashley Weaver, Emma Roberts (AUS), and Lexie Millard.

LA Sweat is excited to announce the addition of Daphne Karagianis (Illuminate)
Sam Schneider (CWA)

“The team is so excited to add seasoned crit phenom Sam Schneider. Her experience and talent are unmatched and we can’t wait to get the season underway.” - Rider Dani Morshead

I am over the moon to be joining the mighty squad of LA Sweat for the 2020 season. I was thoroughly impressed with how the team operated in 2019; the team exemplifies camaraderie. It is clear that these girls are more than just teammates, they are friends and that to me is crucial. The support that Kelli lines up for the team is incredible and I am super-duper honored to don the LA Sweat colors in 2020. A good time is sure to be had with this squad.” - Sam Schneider

LA Sweat operates on a different model than traditional cycling teams. Because of this, they established a solid fan base and evolved into their own brand, which allowed companies to collaborate with them on a deeper level. “When I started LA Sweat now 6 years ago I was looking at all the other professional sports teams and trying to change the way cycling teams marketed themselves. Hence LA Sweat was born with the help of Manual For Speed. Our name will never change no matter who is partnering with us. It provides us with longevity as a team and brand” - Kelli
